The idea for BergmannJames was born on the night of July 1st 2007 at Victoria Bay in Hong Kong. Under the largest display of fireworks in the history for the celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Hong Kong, Ben James and Jesper Bergmann thought that there must be a better way of providing suits to college students than through mass produced suits in department stores.
The following months were spent in tailor stores all over Hong Kong as we learned about tailoring and about the traditional craftsmanship of the tailors originally brought to Hong Kong by the British.
The outcome of all our work is BergmannJames. We are proud to be able to bring the fine quality and workmanship of the Hong Kong artisans to US college students, and to do so at prices that college students can afford.
